The Standard

What is C2PA?

C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity) is the open standard behind Adobe Content Credentials. It embeds a cryptographically signed manifest inside a media file recording who created it, what tool produced it, and what edits were applied.

Who
The claim generator that signed the file. Identity is cryptographically tied to a certificate issuer.
What
Actions like c2pa.created and c2pa.edited, plus digital source type (e.g. trainedAlgorithmicMedia for AI).
When
A signed timestamp from a trusted timestamping authority, so backdating is detectable.
How
Ingredients (source assets), watermarks like SynthID, hashes that bind the manifest to the bytes.

Why we built this

C2PA is finally arriving in music files. Google Lyria already ships signed manifests inside downloaded MP3s. Most people in the music industry will not install a CLI to inspect them. This tool is the drag-and-drop alternative.
